Every year, Rosemont Hills Montessori College celebrates their Founder’s Day where people come to see the different talents of the students. Here, the students are able to discover their own talents not only by their selves but also with the help of the teachers who later on became their mentor.
March 14, 2019. It was the beginning of this year’s Founder’s week. The day started with the monthly mass in the morning led by the priest from Danao City. After sharing the words of God, the spelling bee contest from Casa-College department. Spelling bee is a competition in which contestants are asked to spell a broad selection of words, usually with a varying degree of difficulty.

March 15, 2019. The second day of founder’s week where student’s compete for academic challenge, still from Casa-College department. Academic challenge or quiz bee is a form of game or mind sport, in which the players, as individuals attempt to answer questions correctly and just like the spelling bee, it has a degree of difficulty.

March 16, 2019. RHMC’s Run for a cause and Family Day. It was the first fun run Rosemont has organized. It is a run for a cause program since the contribution money from the student’s will be given from the chosen home for the aged. All students are required to join the run from Casa-College department. The fun run started at 5:00 am from Danao City Boardwalk and ended at Bibiana Mercado Integrated School.

At 1:00 pm, student’s are gathered again in school for the family day event. Parents are able to watch their children perform during the calisthenics program from Casa-College department. But to my disappointment, last year’s family day was better than this year’s because it was boring. I found it boring for the reason that there were no booths opened, especially the horror booth which is the usual highlight during family day. After the calisthenics program, they just play bingo cards to waste their time until 6:00 pm where the Family’s Got Talent started. Student’s weren’t able to go home if they don’t have any guardian with them that’s why there were still a lot of students who watch the Family’s Got Talent. Everyone went home at 09:00 pm after the show and after the students clean the campus.

March 17, 2019. The most awaited event of everyone, the Kaleidoscope. At 08:00 am student’s were required to go to Civic Center for the blocking and final rehearsal. I can see through their eyes the excitement and dedication for their groups as they perform well even it is still the time for rehearsal.
The show has a lot of performances. They have; Aladdin, The Lion King, The Beatles, Jessi J, Cold play, Dua Lipa, One Direction, Spice girls, The Band Club, the performance of Dance Club members of junior and senior high school, and lastly the highlight for this year’s kaleidoscope, the Phantom of the Opera.

Phantom of the opera was led by Joem Sobrio, grade 10 student, Elijah Armenteros, grade 7 student and Robert John Hopia, grade 12 student. The play was about Phantom. From his hideout beneath a 19th century Paris opera house, the brooding Phantom schemes to get closer to vocalist Christine Daae. The Phantom, wearing a mask to hide a congenital disfigurement, strong-arms management into giving the budding starlet key roles, but Christine instead falls for arts benefactor Raoul. Terrified at the notion of her absence, the Phantom enacts a plan to keep Christine by his side, while Raoul tries to foil the scheme. Everyone was so amaze as the Phantom of the Opera started. They were mesmerized by the costumes and how the side actors and actresses play their roles.
After phantom, other groups performed on stage. Alumni students also had the chance to show case their talents in dancing as they gracefully on stage. And to end the show, everyone sang the Kaleidoscope song, led by the band club members.
That’s all for this blog. Thank you for spending your time reading my blog! ’til my next update. Bye!
